Your idea will work fine. I once made a T-shirt quilt for a neice, and printed out several pictures on printable fabric blocks purchased just for that reason. Before I gave it to her I washed it, following the directions to the "T", but ALL of the pictures faded out - they looked like ghost pictures. I reprinted them, cut them a little larger than the original pictures and sewed them on, using decorative stitches and/or rick-rack. Worked just fine!! Good luck.

Thanks for the early morning laugh, I too caught the typo, but oh it was probably just the feeling you had when you had to improvise to get this shirt in.
    Bless you for doing it.

LOLOL....Reminds me of my Junior High Home Ec. teacher from many many years ago. She was a rather petite, foreign speaking lady and everytime she would tell us to get out our 'cookie shits' (cookie sheets), the whole class would be in an uproar. I don't know if she ever figured out why we laughted so hard.

I think the 'typo' in your post may have been a Freudian Slip...least-wise it would have been for me! I would suggest you make a pillow case out of the extra shirt, to go with the quilt and then it is less of a problem. It is always non - sewers who think it will be easy to change stuff.

Thank you for my morning cup of laughter : ) On a serious note, I agree its going to be hard to fit this last piece in, but folks have given you some excellent ideas.

Now that made me chuckle this morning. LOL Glad someone else has problems with the fingers moving faster than the brain on the key board.

Haven't read this entire thread but can you work some of the shirt into the borders? Might be a way to add any others that were accidentally omitted. How about a tote or can the quilt be fashioned into a quillow with the added shirt on that?

Wouldn't help....that word was spelled correctly, lol. And was perfect, considering what they are asking her to do.
