I actually had a 3 1/2 day weekend! Teacher's institute on Friday and since I work in the cafeteria there was no lunch to fix. Had a great weekend camping with hubby :)

I got my 3 day weekend and went tot he Oregon beaches with 17 other gals for a quilting retreat. What fun we had. Now to plan for next year. Been doing this for about 24 years now. We go to Lincoln City and rent a big house with a full ocean view. Jan

He has a bad staph infection and this morning talked to nurse and his blood pressure went sky high they had to call the Dr.

Now today October 11th is our wedding anniverary 36 years.

You can follow about his updates on my PDA. Do you use the PDA here on the quilting board, great way to communicate with others each day. I have met some great friends on my PDA, live chat and by private messages.

Also have met quilters at my meet and greets, quilt shows, shop hops, lunch, house and more.

You are my Quilting Friends and I enjoy chatting with all of you and some we have chatted with on the phone.

Wow, I hope that you and DH are able to celebrate those 36 years in person soon. Keep us updated.

No, you are not alone. My husband works for the power company that supplies electric to Long Island, NY and they have never gotten Columbus Day off.

Don't think anyone else mentioned that Monday was Canadian Thanksgiving --always on USA Columbus Day -so I get 2 Thanks-g. Naturally a long weekend even if we are retired. In our area we had VERY warm and pleasant temps so went boating 4 days in a row. Great for me not to hsve many days of cold weather before I go to Fl.
