Unbleached is not as white...more of a cream. I would use the bleached for that pattern. It would really be pretty. BTW, the quilt in my avatar is from the 30's and you can see the green in the sashing that was commonly used. I don't really think the green would be as pretty as the white, JMHO!

I would say muslin also. I saw somebody mentioned tea stained, and I kept thinking that while I've been reading these comments. My great-grandmother stained a muslin with a pot of tea before she cut it up for her quilt. It's still beautifu!

I've seen many 30s quilts with green and I think we used to call it 'mint green'?? Seems like that's the color we used when making something for a baby shower and didn't know if it was to be a boy or girl. I have a grandmothers fan and it's set with yellow.

I think either a pale but lighter yellow or green would work. However, I think white would be best.

I think today was my lucky day first 1 got 9 yards of muslin for $16.83 (gotta love coupons) then i won $25.00 and 2 free tickets on a lottery game then after that I ended up getting pizza for supper and got 2 pizzas one that I didn't ask for that was way more expensive then the one I wanted for the price of the cheaper one and called the pizza place to let them know there was a mix up and the man said I could have a free pizza to replace the one I was supposed to get because they put the wrong one in the wrong box marked cheese. I think I've also collected all the 1930's fabric I need to start making my quilt. Wish me luck

I like the idea of a muslin. That would definitely give you the 30's look.
