I believe that it is the sincerest form of flattery. If someone made a quilt just like one I did and posted, I would be honored. I would not worry about copyright laws, seriously to many people read way to much into it. If you have questions about it, go directly to the Copyright website and click on contact us. They are really good at replying within a few days to any questions you have. Nothing like getting the news directly rather then a bunch of opinions

I think most would be flattered, thats why there are books out there giving you patterns with color schemes. As long as it is a common pattern that can be found anywhere, no one has copyrights on color scheme

I guess this is another reason I won't post my pics on here. If this truly is stealing and we cannot use the same fabrics with the same pattern after seeing it here on the board, then I guess it is time to stop looking at the pictures. Because of all the wonderful work that you all do, we are inspired and may just so happen to have that same fabric and want to use it just as the pictures posted. And now if I get an idea from a picture here, and I have to be concerned because my creation looks like someone else's work, then I should probably start going through the books I have and get my inspiration there. Sounds like another misunderstood rule.

I think it would be flattery, anything other would be overkill! My goodness, some have gone off the deep end!

Remember the Happy Daisy quilt? A lot of forum members made one after seeing it. They were all beautiful.
