Row Robin 2012/2013 GROUP #7

There are lots of possibilities Whigrose, that is the fun of it all, but alas, we do have to make those decisions and go with it. On those pieced blocks you see, is there a way to make them smaller and then do all of them? This way you don't have to decide on just one or two, you can have nine or 18 for that matter.

Well I got atleast a couple of fabrics picked out and some ideas for my first house and background. I was going to trace the patern but got so sleepy I took a nap. Maybe now I am rested I will get a good start tonight.

That sounds good, rest is a must for all of us. I am personally trying to get some but so much to do with canning and of course trying to get quilting done along with family issues that I have not got to focus on this one yet. While driving to and from work, I am mulling ideas of how I want this to go. I am kind of leaning towards making the blocks smaller then putting a border around the blocks then having the sashing row to divide the rows up. This way, I could have different sizes of blocks. I am thinking from the safari block swap, I got some pretty blocks from that that I could incorporate into this row robin quilt by adding a pieced border on the blocks. Could be fun, have to lay it out and see how it could come together. I would be with Whigrose and have hundres of flying gees or HSTs running around.

Something is happening in village square
I like the idea of different size blocks Beth. It adds visual interest. I finaly got to making something. I say something because I started following a pattern and now I am add libbing. My 15 yr old DD, a quilter too, says she likes it. I think it will be a pieced and appliqued combo like quiltermomma suggested. I might also just have houses and other things running across the row instead of neatly staying inside the 12 inch block.
Sofar it does not look perfect or straight but I have no one to please but myself, right?

Hi Girls, It doesn't matter with me what we call ourselves Group 7 is fine. I would like to keep the Dec. 1 mail out and to stay on schedule so there is no pressure if one sends out early and then are to many months in between for others waiting. It's already going to be Oct 1 soon so that is only a month.
My theme is going to be a beach theme. I will include in my mailing what I would like and the colors I chose. I have been in other row robins and it's nice to have all the info in the packet instead of finding it on the website.
Everyone has some great ideas for their rows and can't wait to get started.

Thanks Quilter Momma. Yes I am busy with working and all. I am going on a 3 day retreat Oct 4 and plan on getting all my ducks in a row for our row robin. I've been looking at patterns and colors. Could we please have everyone put their directions for their row robin in the packet. I don't want to rely on the website for directions and worry I will miss something and make a mistake. Easier on paper for me! He he he! Thanks!
