Florida: Boca Raton ( rat's mouth), Briny Breezes, Celebration (created by Disney), Christmas, Frostproof, Greenacres, Hypoluxo, Panacea, Picnic, Sopchoppy and Yeehaw Junction. And those did not include that native American names like: Apalachicola, Alachua, Immolakee, Okaloosa, Okeechobee and I live in Osceola County, named after a native American. I just used my spellcheck and it did not like a lot of these! I love the unusual words!

What Cheer, Iowa (phonetic spelling of Indian name so nothing to do with cheering), Diagonal, Iowa (from road) and Wahoo, Nebraska (featured on David Letterman show), Oblong, Illinois (famous newspaper headline stating Oblong Boy marries Normal Girl) from the Normal Teachers College (always wondered when they taught abnormal teachers) and Bunker Hill, Illinois. Story goes that in early Illinois Ben L. Dorsey owned land and started towns on either end. He named one Dorsey and the other Benld. Plato Center, Illinois and Romeoville just outside of Joliet.

My grandparents used to live in Jot 'Em Down, Texas - not far from Bugtussle and about 25 miles from Frog Hop. There's also a Cut And Shoot, TX.

And Nevada and Versailles is also in Missouri. One town in TX caught my eye as we passed through and I thought I must be imagining, "Cut and Shoot." Sure enough.

There is a major road and area in Calgary Alberta called Shaganappi. It gives me a giggle every time we go there. Shag-a-nappi.

Medicine Hat, Alberta
We have family in Acme Alberta, I always am looking for Wylie Coyote there.
Moosejaw, Saskatchewan
Moose Factory, Ontario
Newfoundland takes the prize for funny place names:
Dildo
Conception
Blow Me Down
Come By Chance
PotHead
Cupids
Heart's Desire
Happy Valley Goose Bay
and many more.
