Wow that is a beautiful quilt ...I would never be able to make something like that with such small squares, it is great!

Very nice. For me, a little too fiddly. I'm just glad that it isn't for you.

Hard to say, but I started doing the squares earnestly on Tuesday and I sewed the last seam on Sunday. But I had some of the building blocks for the pieces already done and my 1.5" strips were already spread out beside my sewing machine since I had just finished the first one. But longer than I thought it should.

I did it kind of in sections so I finished three rows (each row consisted of 8 double 9 patches plus sashing in between then rows) and then stopped and made a bunch more double 9 patches and then put them together until I just needed 20 more--then I did those without stopping and then finally sewed them all together. All I had to finish on Sunday was sewing the sashing strips to the long rows, but that also seemed to take a long time. There were a lot of little seams to try to get flat, so it look longer than most straight long seams take.

You know I really like your quilts. It won't be long and you will be making smaller patches.

FYI I just finished making 200 1.5" 9P's with 1" squares and strips. I don't cut the strips--they are the last trimmings from quilt backs or just plain trims. I'm anxious to see how big my quilt will be when I get the 1" bin empty But I think it takes almost as long to make a 9P with 1" as it does 1 1/2 so half the quilt for the same amount of time.
