My DH and I are both widowed from very long, very happy first marriages and we are very sympathetic to your loss. I congratulate you for channeling your grief in this direction. I still haven't been able to bring myself to cut into my first DH's shirts to go into a quilt yet but that day is coming I am sure. Your family is indeed lucky to have these quilts as a memorial to your DH.

A special tribute and they will love the quilts. I made one for my daughter out of her husband's shirts (star pattern). He passed away at age 39. She treasures the quilt as I'm sure your loved ones will do also. Nice work.

I'm so sorry for your loss and hope that these quilts give t=you and your family a measure of peace. Maybe when you give the quilts out you can also relate some of the stories behind the different shirts. It could help all of you deal with such a difficult time in your lives. Thinking of you.
