Your quilt is a cutie, as is your daughter! You did good! You will also learn something on each quilt you make. How do I know? I am just finishing my 72nd, and I am still learning. (When I started quilting, my sister told me to mark on my calendar each time I finished a quilt, as she wished she knew how many quilts she had made.) So.....go put a big number 1 on your calendar! Well done!

I think your quilt looks fantastic ! Another option to consider with binding, is to use rounded corners on your quilt instead of square ones ! Use a dinner plate to round off the corners and then just bind around the curve ( alot easier than folding for mitered corners ! ) Then once you have your basic binding down, add in the corners on the next one !
