Hope mine gets here soon. CC was charged on Feb. 19, which is now more than 3 weeks. I am anxious to look at it, since I follow her on the web..

At first I was a little disappointed that the "book" had mostly quilts that I had already seen on videos. But when I looked closer, I found more little bits of information about the quilts: a story, fabric requirements, clearer directions than on the video, hints and tips on different ways to make it.
I really like the two different ways to use the disappearing 4-Patch. I was thinking about making a quilt with both patterns alternating.

Jenny goes into detail with tons of pictures to follow along, the book is packed with patterns and instructions. Many if not all are in her tutes on the MSQC website, but I like being able to visually reference what I'm doing instead of watching the tute over and over again (been there ,done that). GREAT quilting magazine, especially for the not so "confident beginner".

Block is well worth the money in my humble opinion.

Do MSQC reply to emails or just put on one side? I have emailed twice asking when the magazine will be either available in UK or as a pdf download , so far I have had no reply to my emails. First one sent when I first found out about the magazine last one two days ago.
I did not just ask for me I asked floral other countries. I called us world wide quilters.
I prefer reading a pattern to watching video.

I just got my Block Magazine. I love it. Yes the patterns are the same ones on the video. I do like to have the pattern in front of me, that's just me.. I like any kind of quilt pattern. The patterns are very easy to follow. As far as modern, I sort of think these are more traditional.

Something to keep in mind - subscribing to Block isn't like subscribing to other magazines. You don't pay $$ up front for a year's worth of magazines, they bill you the individual price when they ship them out. So you can 'subscribe', get one, check it out, and cancel your subscription if you don't like it.

I just called to find out how to switch my paper copy subscription to ebook, and the woman told me to just cancel my subscription and buy the ebooks when they're available (they don't have a subscription service for the ebooks yet, you just buy them individually).

My problem is the Block is too nice! To avoid having 300,000 quilt magazines piling up, I make a point of, after a few weeks of browsing it, going through the magazine and ripping out what appeals to me so I can throw away the rest. I couldn't possibly do that with Block! It's like a book! And then it will be 2 books, and then 6, and then I'll have 300,000 Blocks piled up!

I tried emailing a few days ago, and didn't get a reply, so I finally called. I know you can't call, but they do offer an ebook version of Block - they don't offer it in a subscription form, you'd have to get them individually when they come out. But they are available.
