You did better than good, you did FANTASTIC.......I am green with envy. You enjoy your fabric, and I believe that the quilt angel is looking upon you tickled pink that it went to a quilter. Isn't it neat how things work out..........

You mentioned that because the most of the fabrics are either VIP or Peter Pan, they are not the best qualtiy. I'm rather new to quilting and would love to know how to spot "best quality" fabrics. I'm guessing that I should stay away from big box store fabric depts. Any other suggestions?

That is very tricky I have discovered. Brand name alone is not enough to find the best quality as I have heard from the people on this board that the same manufacturers make various quality of the same fabrics. So you and I could have the same fabric from the same manufacturer and they are diffrent qualtity. Brand name is a good place to start though. Some of the bigger stores have nicer fabrics but generally not. The specialty quilting stores will. You must get a feel for the better qualities. I am still learning that.
