As always, your quilts are fabulous. Hope your mother is better and you have recovered from surgery. I've been quilting like a demon all year to make up for the last 2 years when I could barely sew, but after 2 surgeries, the last being a complete shoulder replacement, I'm finally starting to feel like my old self.

Thanks Jan for the explanation - I've always just used the term "quilt top" to mean the same thing. Maybe it's a regional thing.
