No ideas on finishing the quilt but I don't think it is 'ugly' at all but a 'happy' quilt instead.

Since you already have lots of color, why not start of with a 4 inch border of black, a 1 1/2 inch of yellow and the last a 4 inch border of turquoise, or whatever colors you would like. I love all that color.

A thin sashing for #1 border, then add 2 more borders of different colors, or 1- 4 inch border, a thin border and another 4 inch border. You can add any color you want, I love all the colors you have already.

I think I would add on a small solid border followed by one made of the same size squares in the sashing and then add a final border on. I would probably use the same color for both borders so the squares would really pop. I would use a solid color that really speaks to you. I would probably tend to go lighter and brighter with that color so the whole quilt will be lighter and brighter rather than too dark. You did a good job on your scrappy!
