I agree with onebyone, garment sewing is in deciphering the pattern instructions. Some patterns are hard to understand and follow so by all means take advantage of all the online help. One rule of thumb in all sewing is to remember to place right sides of the fabric together and the seam is sewn on the wrong side of the fabric.

I made and still do make all my family pj bottom pants. Mostly cotton and flannel. I sew elastic in the back and front. I stick one sewn leg into the other and sew the crotch seam. Over and done. This method was in the Tightwad Gazette many years ago. She never used a pattern, just cut around an old pair that fit. I learned a lot of sewing shortcuts from the Tightwad Lady.

I absolutely love them. Do you know how hard it is to fit pants?? And these fit perfectly! I think you need some black and white fabric to make a top where the colors are reversed. Then you would become a trend setter! Keep sewing, you are doing great.

Just wear them. Unless you tell others about your mistake they will just assume that you are wearing a designer pair of pants. And while your look may not go viral, there will most likely be someone who copies your design.

I really like them. Some people wear different earrings in each ear or even different socks or shoes. There may be people who stop you and ask where you bought then and using the same ribbon on each leg ties them together.

My Danish college room mate always wanted to wear one earring like a pirate. So go ahead...wear that to WM.

I'm sure 'trends' get started just this way; wear them in good health; who knows maybe someone will stop you and ask "hey where did you get those cool pants!"
