That is so funny, I always think of quilters and cats too....HOWEVER, it is only dogs for me! Dont want a litter box in my house, dont want animals walking on my counters, beds, or furniture and never near my sewing projects. I sew mostly for charity and worry about kids/people with allergies.

Love my dogs...cats are nice for other people.

I love cats but not the mess; aquired 2 when my daughter decided that her husband was allergic, both gone now from Feline ( type 2) Diabeties... how can that happen? One, the Male was a lover, the other, his sister, meaner than snot, infact she was so mean my daughter named her Trigger, as in hair pin trigger, that cat scratched , bit , and hissed at me every day for 11 years, I was strangly sad when she died... As far as dogs I love them also. I've had rescued Greyhounds for the last 10 years. you can't get a better dog! no barking, no shedding, smell clean, big dog without the agressive nature... lay on the couch and eat cookies, silly looking things. Not too good if you need a guard dog though.

Sorry folks but we do not have either cats or dogs. . Have a general fear of dogs,(bad experiences many years ago). Liked cats til last Spring, when after feeding a neighborhood cat for several months it turned on me and attacked my wrist. Within 2 hours infection set in and we went to the ER where I spent about 4 hours, received 8 shots plus antibiotic IV and had to return 4 more times for the series of rabies shots. When all was said and done and I got copies of the bills it was almost $8,000. Nuff said, no more cats in my life.

Oh my gosh....isn't that true? I love cats and always have and usually have two of them at a time. I think it's because we love soft, cuddly things (like quilts). Did you notice that quilters usually have very sweet husbands? I have noticed that. And that quilters themselves are very lovely and sweet. Or am I just too gooey.....

My Gracie (in my avatar) uses a kitty door to go outside to do her business. Better than a potty pan!

We have had cats since 1980 and I now have 4 strictly inside cats, girls took care of them for years, now I do. I have 2 toy poodles - 15 Yr.s old and 1 big outside dog 12 yr.s and a pet bird. I love them all, lots of work too.

I just read in Knot Sew's PDA that she is a lap quilter and the quilting keeps her lap warm. That is probably why some quilters like cats. They provide lap warmth when we don't feel like quilting. Except for mine. They are not well behaved. Warmth with claws out - not so much fun and the other insists on sitting on my chest - not so comfy.

I like cats...barbecued. I'm teasing! There are a lot of cat lover quilters. And dachshund lover quilters. It's kind of freaky. I attribute it to quilters being basically kind people. So of course they would love animals. Plus, our pets make the best inspectors!

Hey Bones, get OFF the quilt!

I absolutely adore the three cats that own me. They have such unique and wonderful personalities. I love how excited they are to see me each morning, my dh thinks it's about the feeding, but I know it's really about me :-D . I love when they climb up onto my lap and nap, sometimes it is all three of them and it is a little tight, but we manage. They love that I have taken up quilting, and it is not just the wonderful fabric, batting, thread, and quilts, there are also the great boxes that the stuff is delivered in, oh how they adore a new box. DH has the job of the litter box cleaning, but I give the baths (usually those bath cloths from the pet store) and do the bi-weekly pedicures. We may get a dog when I retire, but right now it would be to much work for us and I don't really think the cats would approve.
