Maybe it's because quilters like cuddly things. A good lap cat is almost as good as a lap quilt on a cold evening!

I have 3 cats and the Siamese mix loves to help me quilt. He chases anything and everything, including the needle, and has been seen carrying fabric scraps around in his mouth like it's a trophy of some kind. Occasionally it's not a scrap but a square I need. He tolerates me working with his fabric or his batting. I do love my kitties but also love my dogs - just not as much as the kitties.

I love dogs and cats. We have a chocolate lab, 3 cats and 3 horses. Lots of poop. I don't see any of it because we live on 80 acres. I don't have a litter box - the cats go outside at night and let me know when they want out during the day. It's great. What I do have alot of is HAIR!
