Sewing area lighting
#45
I use the OTT floor light behind my sofa, that is where I do hand sewing. I have the flip up I always forget to use at home, but I never leave home without it when going to a class or weekend. Had my luggage opened when I checked one in the airport. I also have a head light that I wrap around the head of my sewing machine, works great.

It was a kit from Home Depot into which I put full spectrum tubes. It gives a lot of light in itself when there is sunshine but in the nonsunny weather we have here in Western Oregon during the winter, I need more!

I recently purchased similar lights like the Ott lights at Menards, they are just like the Ott lights but are very reasonably priceded. You might want to check them out also. I bought one and when back and purchased another for another area in my sewing room.

I have never had good light in any house before now. We bought this house because of the enclosed and finished 2-car garage for my quilting studio. The first thing we did was to replace the 1-light bulb fixture with four 4' florescent fixtures. It is like taking the roof off on a bright sunny day. I also have a floor Ott light and a desktop one also...both are used for hand work. Having enough light is wonderful.
