$5.00????? What an insult. No idea, but is worth a lot, hundreds??? Priceless, actually . . . . all the work involved. I don't even think I could sell it!

Maybe sell it at a quilt show?? Where people could see how much they cost?? Reduce it somewhat because of the stains??

Good grief. Sell it to me for $10.00, I'll even pay the postage! (Big of me, eh?) It'll take all this stress off you and you doubled your money from the first offer!!!

Yeah Mom!!!! She knows a beauty when she sees one! She is so right not to sell it for $5. You can get so much more for it. Charities can use everything they can get!!!

Thanks for the explanation Butterflywing. I think a raffle is a great idea!

If you raffle it off I''ll buy a ticket.

(I learned a new word, yippie! this week I also learned a new slang-term on this board, thank you all)

That is a beauty. I vote for ebay or the raffle. I also want to say this....sometimes when I see things given to thrift stores, goodwill etc that people took their love and time to make and so unappreciated, it makes me feel sick. If it was donated to a charity as a raffle for a cause, that is different, but when they are just thrown in for a donation is is so sad. They just don't realize that their mother, aunt, grandmother, friend, put a lot of love, time, effort, and money into making a treasure. I hope someone will get it who will love it.

Margie you are right, My mom gave me one of my grandmother's quilts and my first husband took it hunting with him thinking it was the one his mother had given him, he put it on top of his truck and it blew off and that was in Mindicinno County about three hours away from us so needless to say I didn't get it back so I hope someone found it and it got a good home. This was in the 60's or 70's. If any one on here found it I would like it back please.

For those of us who have used the patterns for cross stitch, the fabric is rarely 100% cotton. That being said, the only problem would be for durability. Putting it up on ebay and setting it around $15 to start..you may be pleasantly surprised with how high the bidding may get to! Good luck. I bet you will get a nice sum for it on ebay!!
