You can always take it. You don't have to use it! i use to travel with my job and I took mine everywhere.
If there are good shops in the area....leave the machine in the car. But to answer your question...No, you are not crazy!! You are just a quilter!!

I traveled for business all over the states in my past working life. For every town I visited, I printed out all the info on the LQS's and hit everyone I had time for. My coworkers were out having steaks and I was SHOPPING. PS this also saved my waistline as well. Have a great time!!
