I keep all bits of scraps even down to the cuttings from squaring up, those I set outside for the birds to make nest. Most of the small scraps I keep and use as stuffing for firm pillows.

Scraps are the greatest! I love to make string quilts out of the bigger pieces. And crumb blocks out of the tiny ones. Fun, fun!!

just cleaned up my scraps last night, now I have another plastic sweater box full of 'em. they are great for paper piecing. I have a 2'log cabin pattern, half inch works great for that!

I have a pillow that is made with selvages (not on the inside), a lap selvage edge quilt and a king size selvage edge quilt. I have pictures but I have trouble getting them out of my photo site onto this site.

When I read this I thought "HUH?" Would love to see a picture of scarf like this. But if no one wanted tiny scraps, they could be pillow or doll stuffing or I use fabric (old socks, other rags) in bottom of pot that I'm planting or strips for "tying up" plants.
My daughter wanted a bean bag chair one time, so I took my good denim, cut the orange slices and started filling the chair up with my batting scraps, fabric scraps, poly fill ... as I went along working on projects.
It didn't work well for something that was six feet across ... it was too heavy and matted down too solidly ... come to think of it ... what did that girl do with the denim when she realized her bean bag was not functional :? I don't remember getting it back ... huh! I guess I didn't train her properly <g> ...
My friend however, has a manufactured pet bed that mats down, and she takes my batting and scraps and puts them in with the original chips that were in the bed, and it is a totally different story <wave>
