It's going to be a beautiful quilt. How about a square of focus fabric, surrounded by wonky log cabin, so that the blocks aren't straight, but a little wonky. I think that would be really neat.

I'm sure you will find answers here and when it all comes together you will probably quilt like a maniac.

What about a Disappearing 9P or a 4 to 9 patch? Both are simple but look complex and they both look great with large prints. If you did the 4 to 9 patch, you could make your 4 patches with the doggie and blue material together and the red and yellow together in your blocks then alternate their placement to create a diagonal pattern. I did this starting out with 5" squares - fast, easy and looked great!

I love the BQ pattern. It has two sizes of the big blocks. This one was a 12" focus block. The other is a 9". It goes together super quick. You just have to be careful with a directional focus fabric to graph out how you are going to put the blocks together so the dogs won't be upside down. Or maybe some should be. lol This is one I did have ready to quilt made with Indian/Mexican style urns.

I think the doggie fabric would look good as the center block in the Warm Wishes quilt. I'd made a Warm Wishes quilt with ABC's in the middle and looked great. your 2 fabs on the left would look good on the logs of Warm Wishes with the yellow in the midle of the log.

I think you've got your quilt planned. (Or I do Heh heh)

How about the Disappearing Nine Patch pattern. This blog shows a tutorial: http://quiltsatcs.blogspot.com/2007/...-tutorial.html

Also, see pics of three I made from the same fabric. Use a focus fabric in the corner of the 9 patch and it doesn't get cut up.

One thing I notice there isn't much contrast in your fabrics. I try to use a light, medium and dark and vary to size of the print

OK - I'll try to post a picture when it's finished. Still need to get the batting.

I've never tried to post a picture before so will try to figure that out one of these days.

I love your D9patch and the colors are great - is the border pieced or is that stripe a solid piece of fabric? Thanks.

A Disappearing Nine Patch would be great out of that fabric.
