Quilters cache has a Rainbow Wheel that my soon to be 13 granddaughter is wanting. It is paper piecing and I have never done that before.

Have you asked what she means by a "rainbow quilt". That would help in deciding what to make.

I love all the quilts shown, but I've seen them before - why couldn't you do a rainbow? I love rainbows, if it was me I would want the true old fashion rainbow, but that's only me.

As you can see from my avatar, that any pattern done in "rainbow colors" would work placing the blocks so a rainbow effect evolves. This quilt is called "for the love of baskets" but I was thinking of "rainbow baskets" and wish I would have name it that.

Depending on her age she might really want a rainbow. I know that they are a symbol for gay pride, but that aside, those colors might just make her happy. For me I absolutely love the bright saturated hues of a rainbow, and even have a prism that I occasionally will hold to the light and just enjoy those gorgeous colors. :-D
