I've joined the FW club!

I have two featherweights, the most recent one I just bought a couple of days ago. I love the old machines and have a collection of them. I'm looking for the 500 Rocketeer now to complete my collection.

Welcome to the users of the little FW. This fall some friends and I went to a retreat we hadn't gone to before and the gal putting it together couldn't believe the 6 of us had featherweights. The entire group was 12 ladies and she just had never seen so many FW at one place. It is just like others have said-easy to take -beautiful straight stitch - perfect for piecing. We all had "bigger and fancier" machines at home but when you are traveling and piecing the FW is the one to grab and go. Love mine. Got it from ebay and needed to have the cord fixed on the foot pedal-but not another thing wrong with her and the case was in good condition too. Have fun.

My husband asked me what I wanted for xmas so I told him either a FW or a treadle. He asked me where to get it and I told him to try ebay. He had never used it. The first bid was down to seconds when he was outbid so he said, ok, now I know how this works....he then put a maximum bid on THREE machines, two fw's and a treadle. When he won the 1st one we were so excited...then he tried to cancel the two others that he put a max bid on and whoops...can't cancel! So I am the proud ower of two fw's and a german treadle!! I'm not complaining, was a hard lesson for him to learn but was REALLY good for me!! Oh, and I am half way thru Billys vintage sight but my butt fell asleep from sitting so long! I didn't even know that was possible!!!

They are to small to do the sandwich quilting on. There is not enough room in the throat and they are not heavy enough. However , the stitch is PERFECT for piecing. I have quilted small items on mine. You can't drop the feeddogs.
