Took our 2nd tree down today. put up two this year. the glam tree (sparkle, sparkle) and the red tree. Sometimes 4 trees.(One with hand carved ornaments and one with green lights and leftover ornaments adults kids did not want and of course grandkids ornaments. Then there are the small trees------------ Tomorrow the king-size quilt gets pinned to the floor for sandwiching!!

We wait until Epiphany. In fact, we are having a family dinner here that night to celebrate "little Christmas". So, it will probably come down on Monday since the Steeler game is Sunday.

I had to take my tree down early because it was so dry.
I like to keep it up until the 12th day too. But I do a big Easter egg tree, so we start bowing out eggs after Valentine's Day. We decoupage them, You'll see!

I think it depends on the kind of tree you have. If its a live tree and you have kept it water well 2 weeks is tops in the house. If its a fake tree you can leave it up all year if you want. I was sorry I wasn't able to get my tree up this year. I like mine up for a week before Christmas and a week after.

I;m usually in the put it up late and take it down after Epiphany crowd, but I just could'nt face it this year. So my college age daughter put it up before she left at Thanksgiving break time and then took it down yesterday for me too. She's great! but I still feel guilty for not leaving it up a little longer..... O well, I can only do what I can do, Ive been working on several projects and had no time.

I like putting the tree up really early, like right after Thanksgiving. We always cut one so it stays fresh. But the minute Christmas is over I want it out! lol
This year was a bit different and shock of all shocks, my hubby took it down and put everything away!! :D:D

We used to decorate the tree on Thanksgiving afternoon and take it down New Years Day. But now that we aren't at our house for Thanksgiving, it goes up whenever we get a chance...which this year was Tuesday of Christmas week. All the decorations are down but the (bare) tree is still in the living room.

Until Epiphany -- or at least the weekend immediately following it. So you know exactly what I will be doing this weekend. At least it's just an itty bitty tree to take down. I couldn't put up my large one because of the furbabies. It was their first Christmas, and I just knew the tree would end up on the floor!!

It is coming down today. I usually keep it up until the day after my husband's birthday, January 3, but we had a free overnight at the casino, so we didn't get home until yesterday (with all our loot, I might add) so at 6:00 my exercises start on TV and then down it comes, out into the front yard for the birdies!!!!! They need some warmth! It is cold here today and is getting colder as the week goes by. Whoopee!!!!! Every bone in my body is aching. This arthritis just does not like the cold. I am going to miss our tree - it was a real beauty with about 500 ornaments on it (from 50 years of marriage), it was a Fraser Fir and the needles are still quite pliable and smells like Heaven. but it is where I put my sewing station and I miss my sewing.

Have a good day, keep warm, and watch for the sun dogs! Edie
