My question is " When do you put your tree up?"

I am surprised that people put the tree up at Thanksgiving or early December. The year that I decided that the kids could help put the tree up on Christmas Eve day was a freedom to me. It had always been put up after the children went to bed; in my neighborhood in Philadelphia. And we spent New Years' Day walking around knocking on doors asking "Can we see your tree?' Every house gave us some goodies! I remember a young Polish couple that had moved to the states and hadn't any family here. They did not speak english but they were so happy to have visitors. And we little scoundrels were only going for the goodies! Lesson learned.

Well one time I left it up till February & another time I never took it down.   I know what was I thinking . We never use our living room & it was shut off & I was so busy that I didn't have time to do it. When I did it was Sept & I decided what the heck I will have to put it back up in a month & half so I left it.

What a neat tradition. I would love to do something like that. I look at trees in the windows when I'm driving and wonder what they look like. What fun it would be to go door to door and see them up close.

Mine stays up at least til after 1/6 - twelfth night. I am still decorating with ornaments I find on sale after Christmas. I love the decorations and hate to part with them.

In the days when we had one they were kept up at least until Feast of the Magi. We don't have a LR or room for one so we enjoy our DD's and her family tree. Our ornaments have been either passed on to her or sold at garage sale.

Ours is till up but bare, I need DH to help take it apart and it seem he is not wanting to do that! DS is coming over tomorrow to help bring a chair back down that goes where the tree is now!
