    Sutton, to quilt as you go: Cut your blocks the size you want them, sandwich each block with same size batting, and backing; pin them together so they don't shift, then quilt by hand or machine. After you have done all the blocks, butt them together, making sure corners are even, and zig zag them together with the width of stitch being 5 and length at 3 or so. There you have your quilt. You can add any type of sashing you like. Hope this helps....let me know.
