Ariz. does have mountains though which do get a lot of snow. You won't find me there though.

It's not that scary to me, but I grew up in New England and the Adirondacks. It just sucks. It's dangerous in this part of the country because towns and people are not equipped to deal with it.
Two years ago, we had an epic ice storm here- THAT was dangerous- Tulsa alone lost nearly a million trees, and 650K people did not have power in the frigid temperatures- lines were down and live, and the connections snapped off of houses. Plus- ice is much more dangerous than snow.

Sounds nice up until you hear about the power problems, so I guess I wouldn't think too much about your snow storms!

The snow isn't scary, but the ice storms are. With the snow, you just stay home and don't plan on going anywhere. The ice storms can be very dangerous. As Maggie mentioned, the ice storm we had 07, I was without power for only 2 days and thought I was going to freeze to death. Some people were without for 2 weeks or longer.
Now that is scary Melinda, no power and you have an ICE STORM   how on earth would you stay warm?

LOL, we bundled up in lots of clothes and piled blankets on the bed and just snuggled up. It was terribly boring!!! I really feel for the people who went without power much longer than we did.

We were lucky not to lose our power, thank goodness. Ya'll up around Tulsa and north of you got a lot more snow than we did. How long were you without power?

I didn't loose power either. And yes, I am SO ready for spring (but not tornado's) I can't get out and shovel enough snow to get out of my driveway, so I am virtually snowed in and I don't know for how long. Snow plows don't come anywhere near my house and I'm a mile from a major road.
