Hi Angie.....I have family in GA! Heard about all that snow! We got ice and rain then snow here in SC.

I have been debating on buying the software. It is so expensive. I found a site last night that looks like it will be real helpful. Will get the web address later and post it!

Hi, Angie, nice to have you on board - not everyone has finished (though I do happen to be in that happy position). In Jan last year, I seem to recall that about 60 or 70 said they would make a start, though we lost quite a few along the way, and some are a we bit behind, though still chugging along,.

It will be nice for you and Blinky to keep each other going and we still try and help each other.

Blinky, that is an excellent site to get some help on each individual block...I used it through out..didn't always choose to do them "her way", but it was helpful just the same.

Angie, welcome to the board! It sounds like the perfect fit for you and Blinky (along with a few others that started last year, but got side-tracked) to work along together. We'll be around for help too.

Lesley...thats something that I have considered for the outer border also. I might give in and machine quilt those "betweens"..I like to machine quilt, I might like to micro stipple around if I do trapunto and I would do that by machine...so..I don't know. I'm going to get the batting done, finish quilting the pieced tris, and do the kites....then decide...(says Scarlet!)

    Welcome, Angie.

I was in the same boat as you, but I started in 1997 and hand pieced everything. I am now hand quilting JJ.

These ladies are just the best!

Patti, I was thinking - I know, very dangerous! Did your tri shrink because of the trapunto, not the washing? We know quilts shrink when they are quilted. Have you tried another one without washing it. I think the wash-away thread would wash away when you're finished with everything.

Blinky, no I won't go away - well at least not deliberately! I want everyone doing a DJ to experience what I did when I finished mine - it was a great sense of achievement and it's the best quilt I have made to date so I am still grinning to myself even if it's more inside now. (can't walk round with a grin on my face all the time, people will think I'm daft!)
