Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions and comments. I have found actually (hidden in the back of my stash) another light color so i kept the middle light and replaced the outer one with a third light and like most of you said even the first one i put it on the wall and looked at it from far and actually it looked really nice as is but i just reorganized the degree of the three colors which i hope i didn't go color blind now and did it wrong, but no matter i am not changing because my DH just doesn't care as long as i make him one and snuggles in it while far from me "I live with the kids in CA and my husband works and lives in IN :-( "

    I love the scrappy look!!
I would recommend a center that coordinates (like red or gold) for the center. If you look at other log cabin quilts the darker centers really show up in the design depending on your choice for layout. IMHO Looking good!!!

This must be the month for Log Cabins. I know of so many that are making one now. My fabrics are solid marble, 3 prints in brown, and all my lights are the same cream on cream..very rich looking . So go for whatever you like, it will be beautiful.

I like lots of different fabrics. You could use 10-12 or even more tone on tones and no one would every notice any of the repeats. Just mix and match, even connecting logs can be different. Looks like fun. Log Cabin is one of my favorites.
