When I was a sophomore in 1954 my stepmother bought a FW for me to sew on as I made a lot of my clothes. She passed on in '71. Her husband called and asked if I wanted the FW and of course I said yes as we were on a construction job in Colorado at the time (with 5 kids) and in a travel trailer. He shipped it in the case only, no tape, rope or anything else. As I recall it came via Greyhound bus - in excellent condition. Amazing! Men just don't think like we do, but I am so greatful that he sent it to me. It still sews like a dream.

Wow Quilting Cousin, Congratulations, "It's a Girl !!!" (aren't they all) Sophie is Beautiful! I don't have a FW yet, but I see many of them come into the LQS/Machine Sales and Repair shop that I work in. They all get drooled over, find a repair shop that can preform a tune-up, and I'm sure you will have many, many happy years together. Many ladies here like to take their FWs to quilting retreats. Greetings from Auntie B in Saskatchewan.

That was a very considerate seller to pack her so carefully and mark the package so clearly!! Good for you, and I know you are going to love having her. I don't have one yet, and am currently in love with my little black 301 "Ida".
