How about rolled up stabilizer or fusible? Or anything that comes in a roll, ribbon, trim, etc? You could cut a little slit in the top for the end of the ribbon to show and have a dispenser... It might work for any narrow wrapping paper, too.

Maybe a sharps container for all the old rotary blades and used needles.

My hubby takes them to his garage. Says he can really use them for nails, nuts, bolts, etc. I'm not sure because I never see them again.. But there are other good ideas here also.

I just gave some to my sister-in-law over the weekend. She makes jewelery and I think she was going to store some of her beads in them. I just hate to throw things like this away when I know someone could use them.

I would put my paint brushes in them. Also my knitting needles, rulers, pipe cleaners, those zip ties would work perfect for them. I have tried Crystal Lite before but didn't much care of it, but I might have to get some, just for the containers. lol

everything comes in plastic containers today. the containers take up more space than the stuff i would put into them.

    i would recycle them.

Wow a lot of great ideas. I love the ice log. I use something similar to keep my paper lint roller in.

I covered them in fabric and filled w/ needles, thread, pins, and a couple of buttons and gave out the mini emergency sewing kits as add-on gifts for my sewing group. They're perfect for the desk drawer in the office. I am making a GFG, and its the perfect size for the EPP shapes, fabrics, etc., I need. I keep in my purse, so I always have a project on hand to work if I find myself with spare time. I have one on the shelf for used blades, needles, and bent pins. One of the brands container is also large enough for a 45mm rotary cutter, and it keeps it from rubbing against (and accidentally cutting!!) my projects in my "to go" bag for guild events and sew gatherings. I could go on and on and on.....
