Hey, Rosemary! Welcome from South Louisiana. I'm a "seasoned beginner." I still like doing traditional blocks. We can never run out of those. You'll get lots of help here and make lots of friends, too.

How about something quick and easy like combining nine patches with plain patches to make a pretty single irish chain?
Plan your pieces to be a nice size! The 9s are strip pieced. and the plain squares can be a tone on tone print...
Look up a tutorial - lots and lots of them out there!
This one is amazingly fast!

Hello and welcome from Great Britain. This is a wonderful board and I am sure you will love it - and learn a lot from it too.

Hello Rosemary - I'm from the San Antonio area (Spring Branch)
and I'd love to chat. If you have time and are interested P.M. me and we can talk by phone, perhaps even meet up at a fabric/quilting store. Kathy

hello and welcome from central Illinois.

How about a square in a square block, set on point. It would use your fabrics well. You could fussy cut for the center square, or use it to show off a theme fabric. Just an idea. Good Luck!
