Since you love your Janome, I would upgrade to a newer model. Thats what I did because different brands operate differently and I wasn't sure I could learn a completely different machine. Happy sewing.

Look at what Janome has to offer, can't go wrong with that brand machine.

Monday is my birthday too (71 too) and the number sure doesn't seem real. Happy birthday to you!!

I got a new Baby Lock last year for my birthday and had a free service the first year. Maybe you should have your machine serviced since it's not doing what it's supposed to be doing.

I found a very good Kenmore machine at a pawn shop. Sews good, has the Manuel and extra feet. Spent $16.00 for it.
So It is one of the newer models. Medium weight, has zig zag and other stitches. So I have found me another thrift store.
I was looking for a second machine to have on hand if my Janome went out.
I am 75 and wish you a very Happy Birthday. God bless

I have a Brother SQ9000 and Janome 8050. They are both great machines, and they are under your 600.00 range. Happy Birthday.
