It really depends on the vacation; We've tented w/ the Grands, rented condos/ homes, sometimes Hotels, sometimes Motels, we prefer a Kitchenette.. in 2 weeks we're staying in a little cabin in the woods.... no electricity, bring your own water, pit toilet... gettin' back to nature, ahhhhh.

My friends and I also rent at the same motel each year, Country Living, for the spring quilt show. It has quilts on all the beds and country type decorations in the rooms and hallways. We all get first floor rooms and at night we use the handy cloth ties on the door knobs to keep our doors open and visit each others rooms for talking and showing of our day's purchases -something like being in a college dorm. One night we get to use the lobby for a big Show and Tell, usually about 15-20 of us, some local quilters join us.

We usually stay at home because we live next to Acadia National Park and it is beautiful here. If we do go to visit we usually stay with friends or family. We also have a camper we have taken to other state and national parks and such.

We just take our camper with us...rather cook my own food then eat at restaurants daily. You don't need water/elec hook up daily..so the cost can be as cheap as $13.00 a night, much much cheaper then hotels/motels..and no bed bug worries either.

What's a vacation? Being retired every day can be a vacation (or NOT - housework today!)

For us it depends on where and petsitter/pet status. If we can take the RV the kitties go with. If not then we can't leave for more than an overnight with this pair!

We did take Teddi (before Isla arrived) to a pet friendly rental house in Cape San Blaas but I sure wouldn't want to haul 2 cats in the truck now! Especially since Isla is a road singer :-)

Can't afford much for vacation to different destinations, so we use our timeshares in Kauai and Branson.

We have a 32' fifth wheel trailer that we take on vacations to stay in. I hate sleeping in beds that other people sleep in, so my house on wheel is perfect. I also can cook all our meals and stay healthy with what we eat. What is fun is we can park it where ever we like and always have awesome veiws.

Have 2 timeshares (bought on e-bay for $1 and $202 deeded) and rent houses through www.vrbo.com. You can stay much cheaper in lovely places with full kitchens. The way to go it you have a family.

Usually in my sewing room. We are retired and therefore on permanent vacation.
