I like them random. Grab a handfull of flowers, step back, and ... throw! Every garden has flowers fallen from the stem, and not every leaf has a flower.

Random ... scatter them around helter skelter ... so much more fun than precisely organizing them! But then that's just my humble opinion! Being the artistic type ... I tend to shy away from anything even & organized! Let nature be your guide! :)

Try setting the flower on top of the leaves until you like

I also like the idea of a few butterflies, dragonflies, or bees flitting about.

Does she have a pet cat or dog? Maybe put one of them at the bottom of the quilt, too? (Nothing like making more work for someone else! :? )
