I'm choosy by feel or pattern. My color choices change, though I love Bali Pops.

I'd rather wait for the good stuff to go on sale or clearance than to buy what I don't really like.
    Totally agree.

The bolt that screams "BUY ME, BUY ME, BUY ME" is what I purchase. I usually go by pattern and color rather than who's it is. I usually have a certain project in mind when looking at batiks unless the bolt jumps put and grabs my arm. LOL

I agree -- I like to tonals best. I don't like a lot of different randomly placed colors as they are too busy. I like the impact of vibrant colors of my choosing rather than the manufacturer's choosing. A while ago, I bought a yard of fabric so I could fussy cut one color. I would not do that again.

So would something like this be good, in place of a watercolor? It has a print, but basically reads as a single color.

I usually buy Hoffman batiks ,they are without a doubt my favorites. Timeless treasures are fine also. I tried som from connecting threads and they are very thin. I guess you do get what you pay for.

I agree with what Karen (above) says. I am not drawn to pinks as much as the leafy green blues as well as cranberry colors.
