I love your quilt! Have never done the QAYG method but plan on trying it soon. I checked out the video you recommended ...think I understand that. Checked out the quilt block templates. I think it must be late I seem to be missing a step  You say you sew directly on what you use for the batting, do you mark the template directly on that so you know where to sew? :( sorry I am being so dense.

Thnak you so much for the patterns and directions. I have been wanting to do a crazy quilt for ages since I have two big boxes of scraps. I was raised during the depression and learned you don't throw ANYTHING away. Great directions. Just like paper piecing which I love. Also the quilting is done at the same time.

I love your quilt. I tried one and it was a disaster. When God gave out matching and coordinating colors for quilts, I must have been out to lunch. I have a hard time deciding what should go with what. With crazy quilts, do you plan your colors in any special secquence like light next to dark etc. or just randomly pick what goes next to each other? Does this make sense?

i have sewn clothing all my life and never have a problem with color co-ordinating. I started quilting late in life so maybe I'm just afraid to let go.

Since it was my 1st, I did mark the batting where to lay the fabric. I printed out the crazy quilt pattern (I enlarged mine) and traced it to the batting. I did use warm & natural batting and it was easy to write on. I used a pencil.

Yes, it was random, I just made sure I didn't put the same fabric next to each other.
