K3n, I am on the west coast, about 10 miles from the beach between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. We're about 170 or so miles from Mexico. Hope this helps you!!!

I am in NC which is on the eastern seaboard of the United States and is part of the Southern states of the USA. Its a comfortable 78 degrees after a 90 degree day yesterday that was complete with severe weather. Tomorrow will be divine at 62 degrees. I hate the summertime. Cant wait for September.

I forgot to say I was in S.C. glad to know that someone hates the summer and can't wait for September. Just had a hail storm after a beautiful day. Supposed to be in high 80's tomorrow. Henry do you do most of your sewing in summer also? Hooray for A/C

Yes. I absolutely hate the summer time so I stay indoors as much as possible.

Let me add, we are in what is called the High Desert in California. About 90 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Been planting flowers all day today, my kind of Mother's day. :D Have beans, kale, chard, toms, peppers, pumpkin and squash up now. Oh and cukes too. Have been picking lettuce for a month now, but it will bolt soon if this heat stays. Had to come in today when it hit 98. No big wind today though, nice change. Much windier already this year than the last few.

I am in Australia (western australia, Perth) and it is autumn. Our temperatures at the moment are around Mid 20 (Celsius) during the day and at night around 10 degrees. We are waiting on rain as have hardly had any and i am just contemplating going outside to do a rain dance...
I am originally from Sweden (born in Boras)

I am in Southeast Iowa. It has been stormy here and in the 65 to 75 range during the day. We've had some really nice days lately in and around the thunderstorms. We are in the middle of the midwest and we are in the middle of what they call tornado alley. We get a lot of tornados in the spring and the fall. Tho we have had them any and all times of the year even in the winter.

It is so good to see all the green on the ground! I don't get out much(nose to the grindstone with quilting) so I just noticed the other day how green everything is!
My favorite thing is hearing the birds singing. Reminds me of my childhood playing in the timber and on a dirt road by our house. I always look forward to hearing the birds!

    I'm in New Zealand! :-)

In the North Island, about one hour from the Capital, right on the coast.

We're ahead of all of you, we get the new sun first. There was a massive party here on 31 December 1999... we were the first to see in the new millenium.

One thing that confuses me.... the two letter abbreviation for each state. I can't figure out half of them! :-)

Thanks ladies (and Henry!) for the specific info! Blue, I was going to ask the same thing - I can't work out all the State abbreviations either!

    http://www.usps.com/ncsc/lookups/abbr_state.txt

Here is a chart that gives a listing of the abbreviations for each state. It does get a little confusing at first.

http://www.50states.com/us.htm Here is a map of the US. It might not be the easiest to read. You can always use mapquest. http://www.mapquest.com/maps
