I have done this so many times I can't count. In fact in machine embroidery, you are advised to do this to "FIX" COLORS" I have the pens in every color. Work great, and nobody knows.

Yes, I've used a Sharpie to make a "sharper" point when I missed it.

Just remember that Sharpies ARE NOT PERMANENT and if you get the quilt wet they will run. Even humidity will cause these markers to run. Yes they say permanent but only to a degree. After all the excess ink bleeds into the surrounding quilt there will still be a shadow of ink on the thread.

Use a pigma pen with the larger tip. (.05) I think.

Or use an actual fabric pen made to use on fabric.

I have a scrappy top all pieced and have been eying one fabric because the print from across looks like a bird dropping. I think you may have solved my problem!

Sharpies come in lots of colors nowadays and I have been known to use them to blend thread with the fabric too. I did not know about Pigma Pens until you mentioned them here Lisa.
