I like it too, and unless it is on a king sized bed the stars WILL be the focal point as the border will fall on the edge and the stars will be on the bed itself, so that is what you will see first.

I know the border is bold and maybe even overwhelming, but it is truly a gorgeous quilt top!

I agree, the color is too much is overwhelming the beautiful blocks, I think tan or black would be beautiful!!!!

Looks good! I like it the way it is now I see how it will be used on the bed. also this picture shows that the prints in the stars are much busier and stronger then in the first picture. they will stand out and hold their own against the border.

Thanks, Anna. The colors in this recent picture are still paler than the actual fabric, but they are truer than in the original picture I posted.

I just wanted to say your quilt is gorgeous! Believe it or not, I started making the same pattern about three months ago. It definitely takes a lot of patience, time, and a high level of skill. Excellent job and kudos to you for finishing it!

I love it. You have blues in your stars, so the eye goes to those first, then all the others....beautiful job.

Thank you so much. I hope you are enjoying making yours. I took my original idea from a single colored picture in Joen Wolfrom's "Make Any Block" book. I made a lot of changes. To copy the one in the book more accurately, I would have had to buy a whole lot more fabric, a wide variety, in fact, which did not appeal to me at all. However, the changes I made gave birth to more and more changes that I had not anticipated. To make a long story shorter, I had to really dig deep into both my stash and my brain. In the end, I'm quite pleased with it, except for the difficulties the piping caused and my concern about the "knock-your-eyes-out" border.

I really like your quilt but I think the border is a bit too busy since you have so many small pieces in the top itself. JMHO It's a beauty and you did a great job. Thank you for sharing.
