    I like Big Stitches for modern quilts. This was actually my first attempt at hand-stitching, and it would have ended up big whether I wanted it to or not!I used size 8 perle cotton, and tried it with a crewel needle, but it was pretty big and I had a hard time getting the eye through the fabric. I don't remember what I actually ended up with, but I'd like to find the right needle. Big Stitching is fun and fast. The beeswax is a GREAT idea.

    Go ahead, give it a try. It pulls out easily enough if you decide it's not your cup of tea.

    I use large stitches when I am making a quilt that I .do not expect to have a long life span (i.e., grand child.)
