OMG, I hope they were able to save your finger. What a terrible thing to happen. I send prayers for a quick and whole recovery. I'm sorry, but that's not a club I'd like to join, however, I once stuck my finger in the blades of my blender wand - stupid I know - but fortunately it was just a deep slice, not an amputation. It was my luck that I got an ER Dr. with a warped sense of humor who regaled me with tales of his ER visits, so he took my mind off of my injury. Please heal quickly and well.

You are not alone . I too cut the tip of my middle finger off, 1/2 inch...At the ER they said to protect the nerve inendings they wanted to sew it on... 4 stitches later I was home and looking over my quilt pieces to make sure no blood. My middle finger slipped off the ruler as I was useing rotary cutter. Nice clean Cut...

that is exactly what happened to me too, I got 6 stitches and hoping in grows back, did yours? I am going to look kinda funny with a big hunk out of my middle finger, and a pointy edge on it. lol

    Hope it feels better soon!

You are so right. It's not a matter of if but when no matter how clever you think you are. I like the Quilters Slide Lock and use it on every ruler. For really small rulers I use the small round Gypsy Gripper. I have the safety glove I take to classes and workshops. I bought the cut resistant glove at Amazon in the kitchen dept. in the size that would fit my boney hand.

Sorry to read of your injury. I hope it heals well. For me it was just seven stitches to the inch. I can hardly see it now, 4 years later.
