I was speechless for at least 10 minutes while I kept scrolling up and down to see this quilt over and over again. It is .... awesome! Bet your Grandmother loves it and was maybe speechless also. Wow! That is some talent you have. I almost bought a used projector on Craig's List once. Now I am sorry I didn't ... but I am pretty sure I could not make a quilt like this anyway. Well done!

Thank you for walking us through your quilting journey. I absolutely LOVE personalized quilts and yours is awesome. Not only will she enjoy the personal aspect of it, but generations to come will get a glimpse into the person she was, which is so much more interesting and important than names and dates. Please share the type of pencils you used and if you had to wet them to set the color. You created a one of a kind heirloom for sure.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments. I used Prismacolor colored pencils for this quilt. I have the largest art pack possible (I think) of over 150 pencils/colors. You don't wet them with anything. Simply use and set with an iron. I also have Inktense pencils which I like but 1) I find the colors are not true and (at least for me) they're difficult to know what they will look like once dry; 2) Bleeding is a constant challenge. And you really have to practice with those to get to know them so to speak.

Although my grandmother hasn't seen it yet, I'm fairly sure she will say the following: 1) "Honey, who is that OLD woman in the middle?" and 2) "Why did I make her so old looking?"

I used Prismacolor colored pencils. You don't have to use any fabric medium/water/aloe or anything. Just set with an iron. Just be careful you don't transfer color to your ironing board.

Thank you for sharing your magnificent quilt with us and the process you used to make it. It is stunning and I can't wait to find out what your grandmother says when she sees. Please keep us updated on it as you gift it to her - what a meaningful, "full of love" quilt!
