The quilt is beautiful. I've always loved the small black borders. Good tip to trim it later. Also liked the "peepers" hint. This board gives me a great education.

Your quilt is beautiful and I loved the tip. I got a tip similar to this for creating skinny inserts, but I could never explain it. I hadn't thought about how much it would help with narrow borders to cut down to size after stitching one side. :-D

    Thanks for a great tip.

That is a beautiful quilt - I love those skinny borders, they give a stained glass effect.

I've been doing them with a 3/4" strip and sometimes get a bit 'close to the edge'. The last ones I did, I cut them at 7/8" then lined up the left toe of my foot (which is 3/8" wide) on the inside of the seam line. This seamed to work too. If necessary, I trimmed a bit off the seam allowance afterwards. :-D

It's goregous and you did an amazing job on it, but those borders would be hard to work with!

Speechless...that quilt is jaw-dropping awesome! There's no element of the design that doesn't work for me...LOVE it! This is one of those stunning quilts that overwhelms you immediately when it's seen hung for show...then you find yourself standing in front of it in a trance...there's so much to see...so many little things that make it interesting... Geez, how many ways can I say that you've done a FANTASTIC job on this OUTSTANDING quilt. Thanks for sharing the photos and the tips...please show this quilt every chance you get...people need to see this one!
