I used Elmers school glue sticks. I keep them in the ref. This helps them to stay firm while using. It helps hold the material around the cord.

I love making these and have taught several classes at our local QS. I like to use strips, it gives it motion. I'm in the process of making chair pads for my wooden chairs. I don't do the curve part, just keep it flat instead till it gets the size I need, 14". Also made small size bowls about 6 inches wide at the bottom and 2-3 " high. One is on my husbands bureau for him to put his pocket junk in at nite. Keeps it all together instead of rolling on the floor.

I didn't find it tedious -- actually, I really find it relaxing. Just kind of take it at your own pace and rest when you need to. I like it because you can get to a stopping point easily with each fabric strip.

Seeing your beautiful bowls makes me want to make some more. Everything you make is beautiful!!!!!!
Have a great day!

I used the glue to hold the fabric in place, I was afraid of it slipping around on the cord while I was trying to zig-zag it. The zig-zag I used was just a standard one that zips from side to side.

I wondered about those, but I was afraid it would gum up the needle. Does the glue stick dry totally dry?
