I really like oatw13's reply.. Even after 10 + years of quilting, I make alot of mistakes. WHO'S PERFECT?? Crazy quilts are absolutely gorgeous!! Check them out and don't give up. Follow your passion. Sophie

Some days I use my seam ripper more than the machine, others not so much, so.....hang in there. Try not to be so hard on yourself. We are all our own worst critics. Bet others will love your quilts.

Step #1. Take a deep breath
Step #2. Measure - accurately folded fabric
Step #3. Measure - once again just to be certain
Step #4. Take a deep breath
Step #5. Be sure your ruler is held firmly in place
and make your cut
Step #6 Repeat for all piece to your block.
Step #7. Take a deep breath
Step #8. Stitch your pieces with an ACCURATE 1/4 in
seam.
Step #9. Take a deep breath
Step #10 Enjoy the entire process, and remember to
breathe deeply every once in a while.

Most of all have fun, and don't be too critical of what you do,

Don't give up, I have been quilting for about 28 years and I still have issues, try calling your local quilt shop and find out about classes for beginers, just a simple class can help you plenty, also try your local adult school. Keep on going, you can only get better, check online for quilting lessons, you can find some good lessons that wait too. Start simple, it makes more sense

If you have all these great ideas in your head, then you are meant to be a quilter!!! Maybe you are an art quilter, where precision piecing is not necessary for success. And remember, we quilt, not to make something as good or better than someone else, but because we enjoy it and because it satifies something inside of us!!

went through the same thing a month ago. decided to step back and wash and starch my fabs and put them in order. also cleaned out the whole room. after a week of this i decided to try again. wonder of wonders, maybe it was just dumb luck but things started to come together. also spent hours here on the board. picked up a lot of knowledge and realized i wasn't alone. hang in there, things will get better. let us know in a couple of weeks how its going.

I paper piece just about everything I can because I'm not always the most accurate piecer! I do better if I cut pieces a bit larger and square up each unit as I go (especially triangles!) but paper piecing is always my first choice.
