My DH gifted me 35 years ago.....thought I wanted the contraption....don't know what happened to it. I do think my DIL's mother still uses hers. Has anyone seen the new "Man Gadget" electric rotary cutter? Saw a commercial the other evening on TV. I could really screw up with one of those!

Not in a very long time. Use my Ginghers or rotary cutter.

I don't find them very accurate for precision cutting but they are great for cutting batting. The trick is to make sure that you only use the blade tips when cutting and not try to use the full length of the blades which gets things pretty jammed up.

Does anyone use electric scissors to cut their fabric with?
I still use mine (almost worn out) but not for quilts. They are great for clothing and such!

I actually still have mine, I think it is stored away some place. Don't use it now, but used it when I made my own clothes. My husband was for any new gadget that would speed the process or make it easier. Thanks for the memory. I had completely forgotten I had it.

I actually still have a pair. I used to used them when I was making cloths, they worked pretty well when cutting out patterns. Not accurate enough for quilting purposes.

The old ones were really awful, but the new ones are great even for precise cutting. In fact, if I want it perfect, I use the electric scissor (no cord).

I still have mine though haven't used them in decades. I liked using the electric scissors for garment sewing. The short cord is a pain but can always use an extension cord.
Maybe I'll give it a try tomorrow.
