I am embarrased to say that I could not figure out why my barn was 1/4" beyond the roof line. However, now I know that it's allowing for the border or next block to be sewn on it.

No need to need to be embarassed. We all learn something new about quilting every day.

It is much better to learn about the seam allowance before piecing the squares, than after. I "forgot" and squared the squares to the finished size before piecing them together- made for an interesting design.

Beautiful barns ladies.

I am sad to say I am now two months behind and April's will be out on Friday. I am determined to get caught up by Friday.

I tried the farmhouse one. Did not like how it was turning out. Was emailed the "proper" pattern and will get back to work on it, especially since I bought some special buttons to use with it.

Well nothing like being at the tail end of things...
Here's my red barn - I struggled with the roof tiles & used up a big chunk of my sky fabric on redos LOL The barn door needs the crossbars painted on (I'll get the summer farmhands at that task come June) & the poor animals need a grazing area but those will come. The facial expression on the calf sums up my feelings about being able to check this one off the list!
A couple days respite & on to April's with a clean slate...

Great block- could that be the cow that jumped over the moon? If so, she is just confused and will settle down when the weather warms up for good.

mammamac- you are not the tail end of this barn block train. I haven't got mine done yet :-( :-(

I hope to get it done Thursday, but need to finish a graduation quilt first.
