Which method are you making?
The first thing I would do is measure your seams.
You need to be using a 1/4" seam.
Are all of your 4 little blocks the same size?
That will also throw off your pinwheel block if you had different sizes.
Press carefully when you make or cut the 1/2 square triangle blocks. If all the sizes are the same then carefully pin your center seams and using that 1/4" seam try to sew them.
Another thing if you are trimming your 1/2" square triangle blocks make sure you are taking a little off each side, not all off one or two sides.
Keep trying. Maybe watch the video again.

The top two don't look so bad. Check that seam on the bottom two.

It is brilliant...so simple and the points are great and so easy to press out afterwards...would really recommend giving it a try if your having problems.....let me know how you get on

I'm using the sew around. Not doing something right.
Cut on the X. Measure those blocks and see if they are the same size. The should be but if not trim them all the same size.
Sew with the 1/4" seam and you should come out OK.
That horizontal seam from looking at the picture seems very small.

Me, too. Can I still join? Our new camera is still on the way so no pictures yet, because we still haven't found the old one, it's buried in the study/sewing room. But I've got 5 full size blocks done. It's gonna be super, super scrappy.
