Joanns was sold now I'm getting 50% coupons more often?

I have a love/hate relationship with my JoAnns. We get great customer service. When I am able to use a coupon, I can get a tremendous deal (the $150 fold out cutting table for $48!!). The fabric is hit and miss. The Debbie Mumm fabric is good, as well as some of the other special quilting fabric. But is is as costly as the LQS. The less expensive fabric is poorly made and generally feels icky. I usually buy notions, quilt supplies, books, batting and trim at JoAnns. Most of my fabric I buy either online or at my LQS. I figure if I save enough on the other stuff, I can justify spending a little more for quality fabric. Besides, I don't want to spend a lot of time, energy, talent, etc using poor quality fabric. I won't be happy with the final product.

Our economy here is really on the upswing! Two very large shopping centers opened recently and now 7 new restaurants. Wish a fabric store with aomoung them. We have Hancocks, Hobby Lobby and some that sell upholstery fabrics only. So I shop when traveling. My daughter says the same thing out west with so many new stores and houses, etc. but no fabric stores. She even wishes Walmart sold fabrics again.

You are soooo right! I am so sick of getting 50% coupons and then going to the store and finding I can't use them on the fabrics I want. I am planning an Oriental quilt. I am going to machine
embroider 20 small geisha panels. I have several complementary fabrics to border each panel. JoAnn sells a black, white and (some green & red) crane fabric at $9.99 a yard. I will need about 14 yards to do the rest of the king top and the backing. All excited, I drove the 35 miles to JoAnn yesterday and found the fabric ON SALE at $8.99 a yard - which meant no coupon use. Arrrrgh!

Thrums: Look for Premium and Designers sign. Also, have a "Team Member" show you. We received the new line of fabrics last week and I haven't had a chance to take a look.
sassy granny: Be sure to sign on to Joann.com. Don't think coupons are listed pn-line with anyone else.

I noticed we seem to be getting more coupons - hooray!!
Also, when I go through their catalogs before tossing, I cut out pics/info on some "interested in but can't afford this minute" and put in a folder marked hold for sales. Then when I get an email coupon, mailed coupon, or they actually have sales, I raid my folder for the things I was intereted in. I do it for Clotilde, too. Especially handy for when they have free shipping campaigns.
